Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Softpaw handles account, household, cat profile, care, media, Softpaw web funnel, and app-use information when you use the iPhone app or related web surfaces (including marketing and Softpaw web→app onboarding). This policy is published in English only. English is the sole controlling language.

This Privacy Policy is provided in English only. We do not publish official translations. If any unofficial translation appears, English controls.
Information We Handle
Softpaw may process parent account details (name, email, auth identifiers), household membership, cat profiles, care logs and alarms, health notes, documents, photos and widget images, typed AI care chat context you send, device/push tokens, purchase or entitlement status when you buy or restore, Softpaw funnel answers and progress you provide in the browser, and app or site diagnostics needed to run the service. Softpaw does not request device location, microphone, or speech recognition for the cat product. Softpaw does not use a pet-sound translator mic flow.
How It Is Used
We use this information to sync household care data, show care tools, schedule care alarms, provide AI-supported educational responses you request in typing, deliver widget or notification updates, operate accounts and payments, measure product usage and funnel performance (app and web analytics as we enable them), improve reliability, and respond to support requests.
Analytics And Product Insights
We plan to and may use first-party and infrastructure analytics on the Softpaw website, Softpaw web onboarding funnel, and iPhone app to understand which screens, steps, and features people use most. That can include product interaction events, coarse device/app metadata, and identifiers needed to connect sessions (for example account id when signed in, or an app/device identifier). Analytics is for operating and improving Softpaw, not for selling personal data. When a specific analytics vendor is wired, this policy and App Store privacy labels will name the collection practices in force.
Service Providers
Softpaw may rely on cloud, authentication, storage, notification, analytics, app store, payment, and AI infrastructure providers. Those providers process data only as needed to operate the Softpaw surfaces you use. Typical processors include: Apple (Sign in, push, App Store billing), Google Firebase (auth, Firestore, Storage, App Check, Cloud Functions), AI model providers for typed care chat (configured with zero-data-retention or equivalent denylisted training where we set them), and—when web checkout is live—Polar as Merchant of Record for web payments, taxes, and refunds.
Retention And Control
Active care content remains associated with the relevant account or household until you delete the account, remove the content, or the feature no longer needs it. Profile → App & support → Delete Account starts permanent deletion in the app; Profile → Erase Local Data clears device-only use. Active account, Firestore, Storage, widget, alarm, and attributable shared-household data are removed when deletion completes. Storage soft-delete or provider backup copies may remain inaccessible for up to 7 days. If Polar anonymization is temporarily unavailable, a server-only retry record containing the former account identifier is retained for up to 30 days. Unresolved provider cleanup is then escalated for manual review and its restricted record is retained until resolved, for no more than 365 days. One-way account-deletion and App Store billing tombstones are retained for up to 730 days to prevent old billing events from recreating deleted data; a cryptographically verified StoreKit restore can safely transfer an active Apple subscription to a new Softpaw account. De-identified purchase, fraud-prevention, tax, or reconciliation records may be retained for up to 7 years when required. Contact us for access or correction help.
Account Deletion And Subscriptions
Deleting a Softpaw account does not by itself cancel an Apple App Store or web subscription. The confirmation screen provides a separate Manage Subscription action, and deletion remains available without making cancellation a prerequisite. Softpaw requests Polar customer anonymization and Sign in with Apple token revocation during deletion when those provider services and credentials are available. If Polar is temporarily unavailable or not configured, Softpaw retries anonymization for up to 30 days and escalates unresolved cleanup for restricted manual review. If Apple revocation cannot complete, the app explains how to stop using Softpaw under Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple. Provider cleanup failure does not prevent deletion of Softpaw account data.
Children And Household Use
Softpaw is intended for adult caregivers who manage cat care. Parent or guardian accounts should control household access. Do not knowingly create accounts for children under the age required by local law without appropriate parental involvement.
